Kota Kihara graduated from the Contemporary Dance and Choreography course at Nihon University of Arts with the President Award, and studied modern dance and contemporary dance under Miyako Katoh and Yuko Kihara. A dancer at Miyako Kato Dance Space and Co. Yamada Un, he has toured with these dance companies to Israel, Malaysia, Beijing, Dominican Republic, Brazil and Japan. Kihara has also danced in The Red Garden of Gaudi, a work by Emiko Inoue Dance Company in 2016, GQ GABBY in 2015, Kazuhiro Nishijima’s Orochi in 2015 and Matthew Bourne’s Dorian Gray in Japan in 2013.

He has also worked with various other choreographers, besides being a choreographer and a dance teacher in Japan. His accolades include winning the first prize in the 64th and 67th National Dance Competition, the 45th Saitama Dance Competition and the 20th, 22nd and 24th Kobe Dance Competition in Japan.

Kihara has also created a number of solo works, including Pegasus, which premiered in 2014. His work foot, foot step sound and step was also selected for MODAFE 2014 and the Seoul International Dance Festival 2013 in South Korea.

Yoshika Shinohe studied modern dance and contemporary dance under Kazuko Toshima, Shigeyuki Toshima and Akiko Hattori for 15 years. Currently a dancer at Miyako Kato Dance Space and Tabatha, she has danced in many projects, such as Akira Kasai’s Utsurobune, in which she toured with the team to Roma and Palermo, Italy, in 2012, and Hayasasurahime, in which she toured to Mexico to perform in the Festival International Cervantino in 2014.

Besides performing in self-directed shows and collaborations with musicians, composers and video artists, Shinohe has also appeared on stages directed by Ryohei Kondo, Mitsutake Kasai and Kentaro Kujirai and The Bambiest. Her accolades include winning the first prizes in the Sendai Dance Competition 2010 and the Dance Plan 2010, as well as the third prize in the 8th Seoul International Dance Competition.

Together with Kota Kihara, Shinohe and Kihara are a choreographic duo based in Tokyo, focused on creating gender-neutral pieces derived from natural movements of play. As a collective, they have won the 2012 Kobe National Dance Competition, and awarded the Grand Prix at the 2012 Dance Summit in Japan.

Norimatsu was born in Ehime, Japan. After graduation from Okayama University, she found her dance company "Futome performance" in 2009. "Futome" means flabby and chubby. Even flabby body, it can be beautiful movement. She was selected as a finalist for "Toyota Choreography Award 2014: Discovering Leading Choreographers of the Next Generation " which led Futome Performance to be known nationwide in Japan. Recently, she is based in Kitakyushu and also works abroad, including South Korea, Macau, China, Germany and Philippine.

Born in Niigata. Kyoto-based. Started dance at the age of 15, studied physical expression and performing art at Kyoto University of Art and Design. Beginning his own creative work while at university, launched “Dance Project Revo” and sought to create choreography that is contemporary and original. Received the Encouragement Prize (New Choreographer Division) and the Outstanding New Artist Prize at Yokohama Dance Collection EX in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Yard is selected to stage at Kyoto Art Center for Japan Contemporary Dance Network (JCDN) National Tour and "We're Gonna Go Dancing!!" II in 2017.

Graduated from Korea National University of Arts, majored in Dance Performance. He performed for dance festivals in Korea and International ones, including Tanzmesse (Germany), Expo Milano(Italia), and Jacob’s Pillow Festival(USA). He also won 1st Prize of 2010 International Dance Competition – Hellas and Best Dance Award (Individual) of 30th Seoul Dance in 2009.

Graduated from Ewha Womans University, majored in Dance. She is always invited to perform in the dance festivals in Korea as well as International ones. She won the 1st Awards of “Young Author (Solo & Duet)” of 2016 Seoul International Choreography Festival 2016 and Senior 2nd Award in 2015 Contemporary Dance Association of Korea Competition.

Graduated from Kookmin University, majored in Contemporary Dance. He is actively in the dance field and performed for number of dance festivals in Korea. He won the GYLAF Prize of Goyang Lake-Park Arts Festival 2016 and Grand Price of Ansan Street Arts Festival 2016.

Ata Wong is a director, choreographer, actor, and physical theatre director and instructor. He graduated from the School of Dance in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and later on studied at École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France. Ata was one of the few Chinese artists that completed the two-year program and the courses in Le Laboratoire d'Etude du Mouvement. After graduation, he studied the making and uses of leather masks under Italian mask-making master Stefano Perocco di Meduna at l'academie Albatros.

During his time in Europe, Ata was involved in performances by various theatre groups and directors, including a theatre documentary named Sur un Fil / The Tightrope (Brook Production) co-directed by the world-famous Peter Brook and Simon Brook, PAN (Compagnie Irina Brook), Princess Amazonia (Phoebus Production). Ata formed the Théâtre de la Feuille in 2010 and led as director and artistic director. His latest directorial works with the company include L'Orphelin 2.0, Sonnets, Papa, Zheng-he, L'Orphelin and I Want Euthanasia.

Other directorial works include Bilingual Youth Theatre: Jason and the Argonauts and General Hua Mulan with The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection (AFTEC); Histoire du Soldat with Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, etc. He was movement director for the crime thriller Three, a 2015 movie directed by Johnnie To.He choreographed Chater Road and Tres leger for the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series in the Hong Kong Arts Festival.

Graduated from The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Cho joined Unlock Dancing Plaza as Artist in Residence from 2010 to 2014, and started his interest in choreograph. He choreographed and performed in the dance video Eternal Sunshine shown in the ‘Short Film Corner’ at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. In year 2015, he directed a dance short film ”yellow alert”. In 2016, he was invited by Japan Contemporary Dance Network to Okinawa and Hokkaido for exchange and creation. His dance piece《Made in Hong Kong》was invited to Tanzmesse in the same year. Cho is now based in Hong Kong as a freelance dancer, choreographer and part time Xi-Qu acrobat.

Born in Hong Kong, Jennifer Mok graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2005 majoring in Ballet and studied modern dance in 2006. She undertook an internship with Expressions Dance Company in Australia for its US tour in 2007 before joining City Contemporary Dance Company in the same year. She left the company in 2014 as a freelance artist. Recent performances include: Freespace2015 'S.L.O.A.P' by WKCD, 'Freedom of expression' (drama)by, Black Bird Theater, City Contemporary Dance Company and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority co-presented the ‘New Works Forum: Screendance’ workshop and 'Rite of City' Dance Video Project. Mok had her first choreography debut 'A Major Clown in G Flat' in 'Femininity' presented by E-side Dance Company which nominated at HK Dance Award for outstanding choreography and outstanding female dancer in the following year and invited to perform in The Beijing Dance

Festival2016 as well as Hong Kong Ballet Group Star Award2016. In 2017 February she presented her solo work ‘You are Beautiful’ in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series in 45th Hong Kong Art Festival.

Joseph Lee was born in Hong Kong and he began his dance training at the age of seventeen. Upon his graduation in The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a bachelor in Professional Accountancy, he decided to further his dance training at The Place, London Contemporary Dance School in UK, where he obtained his Master of Arts (Contemporary Dance) in 2015.

Lee joined Unlock Dancing Plaza as an apprentice upon his return at the beginning of 2015 and became their resident artist afterwards. He has worked with Crystal Pite (Kidd Pivot), Maresa Von Stockert (Tilted Production), Emmanuelle Vo-dinh, Sue Healey, Akiyoshi Nita, Ong Yong Lock and Pewan Chow, performing across countries, including France, London, Tokyo, Taiwan, Seoul, Singapore and Malaysia.

Recent Choreography includes The Other End (2015), Pardon...Pardon? (2016), It tastes like you (2016), Folding Echoes (2016), Confession Ain’t Solo (2017), The Way Horse Talk; The Path We Walk (2017).

Lee was awarded the Chin Lin Foundation of Emerging Choreographer with his solo work Pardon…Pardon? (2016) in the showcase of World Dance Alliance Asia-Pacific Forum 2016 in Seoul. His first-directed dance video It tastes like you (2016) was selected in the Jumping Frame International Dance Video Festival 2016 (awarded the Audience’s Choice Award), South Taiwan Film Festival 2016, Festival of Recorded Movement 2017 in Canada and Perth Dance Festival - Screendance Award 2017 in Scotland UK for screening.

In 2017, Lee, together with an independent dance artist KT Yau, has launched the first local crowdfunded dance project re:do/ Joseph Lee/ KT Yau and re-staged his solo work Folding Echoes, which will be going on tour to the International Performance Festival in Mainz, Germany and Beijing Dance Festival, City Contemporary Dance Festival, Guangdong Dance Festival and Hong Kong Dance Exchange in 2017 and 2018.

Born in Hong Kong, Yau graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the program of Bachelor of Fine Art (honors) Degree, majoring in contemporary dance. During her study, she was awarded the Mainland Exchange scholarship from HSBC to Inner Mongolia for cultural exchange. She represented the HKAPA to perform in Beijing normal university-International Creative Dance Seminar and Hong Kong Dance Company 2011 Macau tour. She was a dancer of Y-space Dance Company and now she is a freelance artist.

She is active in different creative media and passionate in improvisation. Recent performance: ON & ON & TURNTURNTURN 20 years with Y-space dance company in 2015; Diffusion of the silence in 2015 and Heaven behind the door in 2014 of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series in Hong Kong Arts Festival; The Common Cold in 2014 and 1894 Hong Kong Plague in 2015 with Hong Kong Repertory Theatre; Nature performed in Taiwan with Theatre Ronin in 2016; Christmas around the world in 2013 with Hong Kong Philharmonic. In 2016, she studied in Vertigo Dance Company and different courses in Israel.

Born in Macau and graduated from HKAPA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (First-class Honor) in 2013. Wong awarded The Margaret Zee Outstanding Performer Award, Dean of Dance Prize and Faculty Scholarship of Contemporary Dance, also with scholarship from Macau. She is now an independent artist. She worked with many world-renowned artists, as well as Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh, Hiroaki Umeda, Laura Aris, John Utan, Dam Van Huynh and Xing Liang, etc. In 2016, She was invited to France to work with the new creation Simon Says by Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh. which collaborated with Unlock Dancing Plaza. She was also invited to work with Hiroaki Umeda's new creation through at the 28th Macau Art Festival. In recent years, she is creating and developing a unique partnering dance with Hong Kong artist Mao Wei, their work Pardon and Mapping was invited to perform in Korea Wiz World Dance Festival, The 1st Macao Modern Dance Festival, the 43rd and the 44th Hong Kong Arts Festival. In 2016, they are invited to present their full-length work Shelf Life by the 27th Macau Arts Festival.

Yi-En holds a BFA in dance from National Taiwan University of Arts. He joined Cloud Gate Dance Theater 2 in 2015 and has performed in Tsung-Lung Cheng’s 13 Tongues and Spring Riot series. His works have been commissioned by Taiwan’s National Culture and Arts Foundation in 2014, and has presented in 2013 Dance Round Table, and 2012 Next Choreographer Project. He participated in the American Dance Festival in 2012 as a full-scholarship recipient.

Born in China. A full scholarship student and graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He is now an independent artist, focuses on body research and choreography. In last few years, His work Thorny Road, Shelf Life, Pardon, Mapping; site- specific Natural person and No where is home was invited to different Arts Festival, Wiz World Dance Festival in Seoul, Macau Modern Dance festival, RAM Dance Festival (Hong Kong, Taipei, and Japan), The 43rd and 44th Hong Kong Arts Festival, The 27th Macau Arts Festival.

He is also love to collaborate with different Artists. He has collaborated with Four Degrees Dance Laboratory《Tringer》,《Tringer2.0》and《Dream Death》. Rework《Thorny Road》with Thierry Smits. In 2016, He was invited by Hong Kong Art Centre to Present the new collaboration work Les Curieuses Franges with Hong Kong Artist Tracy Wong and two Brussels Artist Camille Panza and Pierre Mercier. He was invited to collaborate with Alessandro Sciarroni to create a full-length Work Tomorrow Will You Still Love Me (HK remix) by The 45th Hong Kong Arts Festival. He specializes in the use of images to create an atmosphere and feelings to give people direct visual impact and their own imagination.

Wei-ming Pak refuses stereotypes, believing that imposing categorization only reduces possibilities in artistic creations. He is obsessed with details, however minute, and commits to creating possibilities and pushing boundaries in his artistic pursuits. The only principle he holds on to is the precision in body movements in quest of the greatest aesthetics.

Pak is an independent choreographer and dancer. He graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. In 2013 he received a full DanceWEB scholar scholarship which allowed him to participate in the ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival. In 2014, he started to collaborate with US- based artist Trajal Harrell and performed The Ghost of Montpellier Meets the Samurai at Montpellier Dance Festival and Pompidou Centre in Paris.

Pak has choreographed and produced works independently since 2009. As a recipient of the Hong Kong Dance Award Fellowship, he was commissioned by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance to choreograph Toilet Pump (2017). Besides, he also choreographed 900”, as commissioned by the 45th Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Interpretations 2 (2016) at 1st Shanghai Contemporary Dance Festival. His choreography piece TINT (2014) for the City Contemporary Dance Company was toured to dance festivals in Beijing and Guangdong. He also created dance video works INNERMOST, Never an Individual and ROBOT.

Pak has also taken part in cultural exchange performances and activities in Israel, Austria, France, Taiwan, Beijing and Guangzhou. Recently, he was invited to join the Hong Kong Arts Development Council delegation to visit Internationale Tanzmesse nrw 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
