Professor Anna CY Chan

Professor Chan has over thirty years of experience in the dance field as performer, arts educator, producer, curator and administrator, and currently she is the Dean of the School of Dance at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She was the Head of Dance, Performing Arts of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and was responsible for shaping the district’s artistic direction and strategies for dance.

In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Dance Award for Distinguished Achievement in recognition for her indefatigable work in dance education, promotion of Hong Kong dance, and innovations in ways to create, present, and sustain dance. Professor Chan was appointed as Visiting Professor by the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing in 2020.
