Annabelle Dvir is a choreographer, voice artist, live music composer and director of her ensemble – WOMAN OF SOUNDS of musicians, dancers and performers. Annabelle Dvir earned her MA and BA with Dean’s honors from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and graduated from KELIM Center’s Choreography Program.
Recently [June 2024] Annabelle won the 3RD PRIZE of Danse Élargie Théâtre de la Ville – Paris: The Terrain Company Boris Charmatz, The Hermès Corporate Foundation, The Cndc Angers Noé Soulier and La Comédie de Valence – CDN Drôme Ardèche Marc Lainé. In 2023 Annabelle was the artist resident of Suzanne Dellal Center; In 2022 she won the Israel Minister of Culture Award and prize and was accepted to the international residency of AGORA CITÉ INTERNATIONALE DE LA DANSE Montpellier France; In 2018 she received the DanceWEB Grant ImpulsTanz Vienna International Festival; The 2017 Art Excellence Award of Holon Municipality; and The Gertrud Kraus Scholarship in 2015.
Her multidisciplinary work, which stems from her innovative physical-vocal practice of slamming, and examines the act of storytelling and tensions between the desired and risked, is presented internationally such as in: Singapore, Italy, Georgia, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, France and more.
