Mana Kawamura grew up studying dance at the Izumi Kawamura Dance Studio, a dance school her grandmother established in 1953. In 2002 she studied at the Dance Department of Folkwang Hochschule, Germany until 2004. In 2016 she received a scholarship from the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan to study at Merce Cunningham Dance School, New York.
Her choreographic works have been presented in many international festivals such as Jacob’s pillow dance festival, DanceNow NYC and newMoves Contemporary Dance Festival among others. From 2017 to 2020, She danced as a member of Dairakudakan Dance Company and toured around the world.
Currently she works as a freelance dancer, choreographer and yoga instructor.
